Thurs. August 8, 2025 - Water Well #5 Update

8/7/2025

Thank you for your conservation efforts this week. The Water Well Team accomplished their well production goals for the week. Stage 4 Drought Contingency  Plan has been lifted until Monday morning. Please enjoy your outside water usage this weekend.

On Monday morning, Aug. 11, at 6:00 am, we will return to Stage 4 of the Drought Contingency Plan. Stage 4 will be in effect all week long, Monday through Friday. The Water Well Team will bee back in town and moving to yet another stage of well development. As a city, we will need to conserve our water usage so that they can accomplish their production goals. Joining us in those water conservation efforts next week will be an additional 620 students and staff on the Burton ISD campus. Students and staff will be made aware of our need to conserve water. Again, it will take all of us working together to make this happen. Thank you for your assistance with this project!

A reminder about Stage 4 of our Drought Contingency Plan is - Only hand held hoses, hand held buckets, and drip irrigation can be used to water flower beds, gardens, and the like. The use of hose-end yard sprinklers or permanently installed automatic sprinkler systems are prohibited at all times.

Other prohibited activities include: the washing of motor vehicles (auto, motorbike, boat, trailer, etc.); the filling/re-filling or adding of water to swimming pools, wading pools, and Jacuzzi type pools; the operation of ornamental fountains, the watering of city parks; and, power washing buildings, sidewalks, gutters, or other hard surfaces.

Again, please take care of your water needs this weekend in preparation for next week.  Stage 4 of the Drought Contingency Plan will go into effect on Monday morning, August 11 at 6:00am.
