Stage 5 Drought Contingency Lifted
7/15/2025
On Saturday, the cementing phase of Water Well #5 was completed. This means that the Stage 5 Drought Contingency has been lifted for now. We would like to thank our residents for their efforts to conserve water during this past week. This phase of the drilling process was completed without a loss of water or outages.
Please be advised that we will need to go through this porcess again during a different stage of the drilling process. We will keep you posted as this process moves forward.
Utility Manager Rachel Belvin sent out an Everbridge alert on Saturday informing residents as well as posting the information on the City of Burton Facebook page. KWHI and the Banner Press have also been informed. If you did not receive an Everbridge notification on Saturday, please call City Hall to verify that you are on our list for Everbridge or let Rachel know that you wish to be put on that list. Everbridge allows you to receive immediate notifications given the fact that this website is only monitored several days a week.
